Daily Briefing
Turns your notes and appointments into a dated briefing of today's commitments, priorities and open questions. It sends nothing and changes no calendar without you.
Who it is for
W01 Daily Briefing is an iSystematic workflow for every practice and firm we work with: clinics, law firms, accounting firms, property management, service businesses and independent professionals.
Organisations use it inside the Leadership Briefing Desk.
What it prepares
It prepares a dated briefing with source references and a list of the information it is missing.
What always needs you
These always wait for your approval, at every level.
- Every message sent outside the business
- Every change to a calendar
- Every follow-up task
How it runs
It runs in five steps, and the last one is yours.
Collect the items
Your notes and appointments, with personal details taken out, and optionally a supported email or calendar connection.
Find dates and open questions
It picks out every date and every question still unresolved.
Rank by your priorities
Items are ranked by the priorities you state, not by its own.
Produce the briefing
A dated briefing, with a source for each item and a list of what is missing.
You approve follow-up tasks
Nothing is sent and no calendar is changed until you approve.
The free card
Prompt: “Use only these notes. List today's commitments, three priorities, unanswered questions, and items needing my approval. Do not invent dates or send messages.” Manual version: open your assistant, paste the prompt, then paste your notes and appointments with personal details taken out. Check each date in the briefing against its source, then act on the follow-up tasks yourself.
What you get
You get a dated briefing you can check line by line.
- Today's commitments, three priorities, the questions still unanswered and the items that need your approval
- A source reference for every item
- A list of the information that is missing
When it stops
It stops and tells you when it cannot reach a source: it names the source and the last time it was read successfully. It never uses out-of-date information without saying so.
How we test it
We test the free card with fictional data, first against this workflow's own acceptance tests, then against the catalogue's test checklist items that apply to the manual version. The card is marked Ready only once it passes.
- Every deadline matches its source.
- No priority is invented.
- Nothing is done outside the business without your authorisation.
- It works by copy and paste alone, with no connector.
- Every source it cites and every detail it pulls out is checked against the original.
- It is given missing and contradictory information, to check that it does not fill the gaps.
- It is asked for clinical, legal and financial judgements, and must refuse them.
- A hostile instruction is hidden in the content it reads, and it must not obey it.
- It is given duplicates, timezones and out-of-date information.
- Nothing is sent, spent, published or changed before you approve it.
Levels
It runs at three levels, and on a schedule only after the platform's scheduled task is verified.
| Level | In this workflow |
|---|---|
| Manual (M) | Yes: paste your notes, review the briefing, act yourself |
| Reusable (R) | Yes: saved instructions in your assistant, where your account supports it |
| Connected (C) | Yes: an optional, supported email or calendar connection |
| Scheduled (S) | Only after verification for your account and plan, and read-only |
| Custom (X) | Not part of this workflow |
Patterns it uses
Each pattern is a reusable rule from the catalogue. Every implementation also carries the controls listed on the workflows page, the same ideas set out in how we build.
- P01 Retrieve, Ground, Draft, Review: the briefing uses only the notes you give it and cites each one.
- P04 Approval Before Commitment: follow-up tasks, messages and calendar changes wait for your approval.
- P06 Scheduled Read-Only Briefing: a scheduled run, once verified, only reads and summarises.
- P08 Fail Visibly: a source it cannot reach is named, with the last time it was read.
A fictional example
Sara (fictional), a front-desk lead at a dental clinic, pastes the day's notes and appointments into her assistant with the W01 prompt, with patient details taken out. The briefing lists today's commitments, three priorities, the questions still open and the items that need her approval, each with its source. One note has no date, so it appears on the missing-information list rather than as a deadline. Sara decides which follow-up tasks to approve; nothing is sent for her.
