The AI Governance Teardown
A fixed-scope, two-week examination of how your organisation governs its AI and its models, scored against the MESA Framework™, with a findings readout on Day 10. It is conducted by the person who wrote the frameworks it uses: Nabeel Khan, through iSystematic Inc.
The question you are asked
The AI Governance Teardown, delivered through iSystematic Inc., answers the question a board puts to its executives: is AI under control here, and can we show it? It examines your governance rather than your models, so the answer rests on your policies, inventories, committee records and the decisions behind them.
What the company delivers
The Teardown is fixed in scope, fee and length: two weeks, with the readout on Day 10.
| Term | Detail |
|---|---|
| Scope | A fixed-scope, fixed-fee, two-week examination of how your organisation governs its AI and its models, scored against the MESA Framework™. |
| What is read | Your governance, not your models: policies, inventories, committee records, validation reports, vendor contracts, and the decisions behind them. |
| Method | Governance documents and up to eight stakeholder interviews, scored against the fifty-question MESA instrument across the four layers. |
| Duration | Two weeks, with the findings readout on Day 10. |
| Deliverables | A Governance Gap Report; a Remediation Roadmap (Now, Next, Later) with owners and effort bands; a one-hour findings readout on Day 10; a one-page board summary. |
| Ownership | You own the report. The frameworks and templates behind it remain licensed intellectual property. |
| Your data | No production data leaves your environment, and protected health information is refused. Working papers are kept on encrypted systems in Canada. |
| Team | Conducted by the person who wrote the frameworks it uses: Nabeel Khan, personally, through iSystematic rather than staffed to a bench. |
| Fee | Fixed, shared on the Fit Call. |
| Capacity | Limited. |
| Not included | It is not a legal opinion, a penetration test or a model rebuild. |
What can follow
The Enterprise AI Advisory Retainer follows a delivered Teardown rather than starting cold. The Teardown is also one entry point to the AI-Native Enterprise Accelerator, described under Architecture.
What it is built on
The Teardown scores your governance with the fifty-question instrument of the MESA Framework™, a deposited specification that profiles an institution at four altitudes. Its free twelve-question version is the AI Governance Readiness Assessment on nabeelkhan.com.
Who leads it
Nabeel Khan, Defensible AI Architect (enterprise AI architecture and AI governance for regulated institutions), is the named practice lead and conducts the Teardown himself.
How to start
Book a Fit Call: a free 30-minute video call where the fit is tested and the fixed fee is shared. If it fits, a proposal follows within 48 hours. The canonical description of the Teardown is on nabeelkhan.com/teardown.
